Account Structure
An account structure is a set of dimensions, such as "Cost centre and project" or "Business area only". Ledger Setup gives each range of account numbers a structure; voucher lines on those accounts then carry those dimensions.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Account Structure | The code | Required. Unique |
| Name | The name | Required. Unique |
| Notes | Free text | |
| Dimension (lines) | One dimension per line | Required on a line |
Whether a dimension must be filled, and with which values, is set per account range on Ledger Setup, not here.
Two structures are made by the system for inter-unit accounting: BAL-FIN-DIM and INTERUNIT.
Scenarios
- Expenses by cost centre, revenue by business area. Structure A: cost centre. Structure B: business area. On Ledger Setup give the expense range A and the revenue range B.
