Location Structure
A short list shared by every company: a code and a name for a name for a way a warehouse is laid out, such as Racked or Floor stack. It is one of three small lists in Warehouse Management that describe warehouses.
What it is for
Nothing else in the system refers to a Location Structure today. Not even Storage Location Structure has a field for it, so a record kept here is a reference list only.
The list is not tied to a company. A record made while logged in to one company is offered in every company.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Location Structure | The code | A short code such as RACK. Required |
| Name | The name people see | Such as Racked aisles. Required. Kept per language: the name you type is the name in your current language, and becomes the starting name in the others |
| Block | Marks the record as blocked | Recorded only. The lookups that offer this list still show a blocked record |
How to configure it
Add only the values the business really uses. The screen has New, Create, Edit and Delete; there is nothing to post or reverse.
What it is connected to
- Storage Location Structure - the warehouse document these lists describe.
If something looks wrong
- I filled this list and nothing changed in stock or picking. That is expected. The value is recorded for reference only.
