Route
the routes shipments travel, with their segments and standard speed and distance.
What it is for
The Freight and Forwarding screens are data capture only today: nothing in the system reads these records except the screens of this module, and nothing posts. The layout also places Route Type, Carrier Type, From and To location, Speed Limit, Days and Hours, which are not set up for this screen and never show, and the route has no visible name. The Basic Data and Segment tabs hold the route's lines and segments.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Routing | The code | Required; unique |
| Returnto Same location | The route returns to its start | |
| Standard Speed | Usual speed | |
| Distance In KM | Length of the route |
How to configure it
Nothing beyond the list.
Scenarios
- Trucks run a fixed loop from the port to the warehouse. Make a route with Returnto Same location ticked and its distance.
What it is connected to
If something looks wrong
- Save refuses and marks the code. The code is empty, or another record of this screen already uses it. Codes must be unique; type a new one.
