Bank Transaction Type
A short list of the kinds of bank movement: cheque clearing, bank charges, profit, transfer. Each line of Bank Transactions and Bank Reconciliation can carry one.
What it is for
It labels each bank line so the lines can be read by kind. The type is a label: it does not choose accounts and does not change what posts.
The list is kept per company: the lines offer the types of the company you are signed in to.
Every field in plain words
| Field | What it means | What to put |
|---|---|---|
| Bank Transaction Type | The code | A short code such as CHG. Required |
| Name | The name | Such as Bank charges. Required. Kept per language |
How to configure it
To make every bank line carry a type, tick Transaction Type mandatory in Bank Transaction on Cash Bank Setting. The screen allows Create, Edit and Delete.
What it is connected to
- Bank Transactions and Bank Reconciliation - the Bank Transaction Type column.
- Cash Bank Setting - makes the type compulsory.
- Bank Transaction Group - lists types under a heading.
If something looks wrong
- "Bank Transaction - Line ID: ... - Bank Transaction Type cannot be empty". The setting makes the type compulsory and a line has none.
