Process Recurring Entry

Process Recurring Entry looks at the Recurring Entry Templates, works out which repetitions are due up to the Till Date, and on Save posts one General Entry for each template and repetition.

What it is for

One run posts every due repetition, so nobody has to remember each standing entry.

Rules people get wrong:

  • Every voucher of a run is dated the Till Date, even when the run catches up several missed months. Run it each month to keep each month's entry in its own month.
  • A template counts how many vouchers it has already posted (reversed ones do not count) and stops at its Number of occurrences.
  • How many repetitions come up for day, week and year templates follows the system's own counting. Always read the lines Create brings before you Save.

If something looks wrong

  • "No Data Found" Nothing is due up to the Till Date: the templates are used up, or their Date From is not yet reached.
  • "No Recurring Entry to be process." The run has no lines.
  • "Only Posted Vouchers can be reversed" / "Reverse Date: ... cannot be less than Posting Date: ..." Reverse a saved run, on or after its Transaction Date.
  • After Reverse, a voucher of the run is still in the ledger. When one run created several vouchers, check on the Vouchers list that each one shows reversed. General Entry refuses to reverse a voucher another screen created, so ask your implementer about any left over.
